Getting Back on Track
Falling behind can often feel like an inescapable fate, especially because losing momentum has an ironically speedy snowball effect. The best way to stop this process is to acknowledge it. Life has a way of distracting us all, and there’s no reason to be ashamed of it; embarrassment only leads to denial, which fuels our desire to hit snooze again, skip another workout or sneak in a few more cookies. If you’re feeling behind, instead of avoiding your latest mishap, look it in the face, accept it, hug it goodbye, and overcome it. Although it may be small, this is a mighty step in the right direction. We must let go of our past mistakes in order to actively progress towards the future we want.
